Choose a client

Installing, step by step

Browser, as an app

  1. Chrome or Edge on a computer: open the game and choose Install app from the address bar or the menu.
  2. Android: open the game in Chrome, then menu > Add to Home screen.
  3. iPhone and iPad: open the game in Safari, then Share > Add to Home Screen.

Windows

  1. Download the launcher and open it. Windows 10 or 11.
  2. It needs the Microsoft WebView2 runtime. Windows 11 already has it; on Windows 10, get it from Microsoft if it is not installed.
  3. The launcher has no code-signing certificate yet, so SmartScreen may warn the first time. Choose More info > Run anyway.
  4. Sign in with your Groot ID: the launcher opens your browser to do it.
  5. Updates are signed (Ed25519), and the launcher checks each one before it installs it.

Android

  1. Android 7 or newer, with Chrome installed.
  2. Download the APK on your phone and open it.
  3. When Android asks, allow your browser to install unknown apps, then go back and install.
  4. It is the full game, fullscreen: the same one as in the browser, without the address bar.

Fair play

The same rules on every client.

No client gets an edge. What Guardian adds on Windows is one more check, not a different game. About BBSS

  • Every match is re-checked

    On every client, the server re-checks each finished match from its recorded orders before the result counts.

  • Reports reach BBSS

    Cheat reports go to BBSS from the browser, Windows and Android alike.

  • Guardian on Windows only

    The launcher adds BBSS Guardian: driverless, and running only while the game does. The browser and Android have no Guardian.
